We have had a good year in 2009 . We enjoyed a lunch in January in
Walcot , Telford area and played skittles in February at Snowshill and although
cold, was a good day March was us at a very nice country house hotel in Hockely
Heath, where we enjoyed lunch, We had a Spring Long weekend just outside
Grantham, at a very nice hotel and we had coffee in a little craft centre on
Saturday, visited a small aircraft field and museum, followed by visit to
Grimsthorpe Castle on Sunday and then Raymon Mayes museum in Bourn, on the way
home on Monday we went to a windmill for lunch all very much enjoyed by those
attending. June saw us at a most extrodanary house owned by a multi millionaire
and opened for the day for charity, this was in Warwickshire and had to be seen
to be believed, but we were made very welcome and much enjoyed the day. July we
visited the David Austin rose gardens at Boningale, August one of our memebrs
invited us to a lovely BBQ at there home near Banbury and September we had a
lunch in Kinlet and October we held our Autumn Weekend just outside Telford, but
again a very pleasant pub/hotel and visited ironbridge, November saw us back in
Henley-in-Arden for our AGM and lunch. So you see we try to do something at
least once a month.
So far for 2010 we have held a post christmas lunch skttles in February
and a Spring Weekend which were all very much enjoyed by our members. We have
been pleased to welcome several new members , and our next meeting is in June,
and will be a visit to a most unusal property and garden open day, followed by
treasure hunt in July and BBQ at members house in August. Autumn weekend still
be to arranged.
